In a heartbreaking event last Friday evening, Kayon Adamson, aged 47, lost her life in a shooting at her own establishment, the Whirl-Away Bar located on Grove Road, Kingston. The incident occurred around 5:10 pm when a solitary gunman entered the bar and discharged a firearm, fatally wounding Adamson.
Witnesses in the vicinity reported hearing gunshots and promptly alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, police officers found Adamson severely injured behind the bar counter, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. She was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her deceased.
This tragic loss comes nearly eleven years after a similar fate befell Adamson’s partner, Delroy Thompson, who co-owned the Whirl-Away Bar. Thompson was tragically killed on Kew Road after being chased and shot by unidentified assailants.
The Half-Way Tree Police Department has initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Adamson’s murder. The community mourns the loss of a beloved business owner and awaits further details from the ongoing inquiry.
