Grace Aitchison Anderson has transformed her personal quest for financial independence into a mission to uplift others. Balancing her role as an accountant with her entrepreneurial spirit, Grace founded Walking into Financial Freedom, a company dedicated to providing practical tools such as planners, budget books, and savings challenges to help individuals achieve financial well-being.
“A solid budget is essential. Without it, tracking your expenses becomes a challenge,” Grace emphasized during an interview with the Jamaica Observer. Leveraging her accounting expertise and business acumen, she initially launched a stationery venture named Grace by Faith and Grace in 2022. This business focused on creating and selling notebooks, bookmarks, and stickers. However, by 2023, Grace pivoted her business model to incorporate faith-based financial planners and savings challenges, aligning her products with her passion for financial education.
Grace’s drive to support others financially stems from her own experiences with debt and job dissatisfaction. In a conversation with the Business Observer, she recounted how mounting debts and poor treatment at her former job led her to seek a side hustle. This endeavor not only helped her manage her finances but also inspired her to develop budgeting tools aimed at helping others eliminate debt and attain financial freedom.
Investing nearly $500,000 in equipment and materials, Grace embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by establishing a stationery printing business. By 2023, after overcoming her own financial hurdles and starting to save and invest, she was motivated to create budget and savings planners that would provide others with a robust financial foundation.
“Understanding how to save is crucial for investing wisely. Even if you receive a substantial amount of money, without proper saving strategies, managing it effectively becomes impossible,” Grace explained.
In 2024, Walking into Financial Freedom launched a series of budget planners and savings challenge tools, including the innovative 100-Day Savings Challenge book. Designed to make financial planning and goal tracking straightforward, this book allows users to erase and restart their savings entries using rubbing alcohol, thanks to its reusable plastic pages. Grace introduced this product with the intention of making saving a fun and habitual activity, particularly targeting children.
“The 100-Day Savings Challenge is more than just saving money; it’s about cultivating a consistent saving habit,” Grace stated. The reusable nature of the book encourages daily engagement, allowing children to actively participate in their financial growth. Grace believes that instilling these habits early can positively influence adults as well. When children complete the challenge, they often inspire their parents to take further financial steps, such as opening savings accounts or investing.
“This approach encourages parents to explore investment opportunities and financial accounts for their children, fostering financial responsibility from a young age,” Grace added.
Grace’s planners have become bestsellers on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, with her faith-based budget planners gaining traction among those seeking structured financial tools. Each planner integrates motivational scriptures, providing both financial guidance and spiritual encouragement. Grace envisions her tools not only aiding individuals in their financial journeys but also creating a legacy of financial literacy for future generations.
“Envision a future where children grow up saving consistently, entering adulthood debt-free, and approaching higher education without the burden of student loans,” Grace mused. “By nurturing these habits early, we can build a financially secure and independent society.”
Through Walking into Financial Freedom, Grace Aitchison Anderson continues to make significant strides in empowering individuals to take control of their finances, ensuring that financial independence is attainable for everyone.
