Mandeville, Jamaica — Authorities are currently investigating the unexpected death of a well-known newspaper vendor in Mandeville. The body of Patrick Ewers, also known as ‘Kitoso’, aged 52, was discovered early Monday morning in a bus shed situated near the entrance of Mandeville Regional Hospital.

Patrick, a fixture in the community for nearly two decades, dedicated his career to distributing the Daily Observer throughout the town. His commitment to his work made him a familiar and respected figure among locals.

A local street sweeper was the first to locate Ewers at approximately 4:00 AM. Following the discovery, police were alerted and have since initiated a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding his passing. Initial statements from law enforcement indicate that there are no immediate signs of foul play involved in the incident.

Further investigations are underway, with authorities conducting an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. Additionally, sources close to the situation revealed that Ewers had been hospitalized recently, though details regarding his hospitalization have not been disclosed.

The community is left in shock as they await more information from the ongoing investigation. Friends and colleagues remember Patrick Ewers for his dedication and presence in Mandeville’s daily life, and his loss has left a significant void among those who knew him.
