MIAMI, Florida — What began as a simple studio experiment has evolved into a confident stride into the reggae scene for Stacey Mirander, a Florida-based vocalist with Jamaican roots. Her latest release—a vibrant reinterpretation of Feel Like Making Love—marks a turning point in a career that was never originally planned.
“I didn’t walk into the studio intending to build a music catalogue,” Mirander admits. “But something clicked when I recorded that first track. It unlocked something I didn’t even know I needed to explore.”
Her newly released single, available on major streaming platforms, channels the warmth of island rhythms into a rework of the Roberta Flack classic. But rather than dwell on comparisons or nostalgia, Mirander’s version serves as a quiet declaration: she’s here, and she’s not just dabbling.
This release is only the beginning. Mirander is prepping a series of new singles, including the introspective Call You Mine and the high-energy Lit Up, which she describes as “pure fun—music for letting go.”
While her early recordings were guided by producers Bulby York and Triple Ess, Mirander has begun to shape her own direction. Her sound bends genres—anchored in reggae, but laced with Afrobeat, R&B, and her own personal edge.
“I’m not trying to sound like anyone else. There’s no formula here,” she said. “If the beat moves me, I move with it. That’s the whole approach.”
As for the future, Mirander isn’t making grand predictions—just steady progress.
“Right now, it’s about building. One song, one performance, one moment at a time.”
