ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Following the energetic debut of Wet Dreams, the promoter of the soca-infused beach party promises an even more electrifying experience for its second staging. Dubbed “Wet Dreams: The Paint & Rum Edition,” the event is set to make waves on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Ultra Beach, St Catherine.
Otteney Stewart, the mastermind behind the event, shared his excitement for what’s to come, hinting at thrilling new elements designed to elevate the experience. “This time, we’re turning it up with paint, water cannons, and a lot more rum. The vibes will be unmatched, and we’re working hard to ensure every patron leaves with unforgettable memories,” Stewart said.
Creating a Unique Soca Escape
Stewart revealed that Wet Dreams was born from conversations with partygoers—particularly women—who craved an event tailored to their tastes. “A lot of ladies said they were tired of the same old parties dominated by ‘choppa’ songs. They wanted something refreshing, vibrant, and full of soca energy. Wet Dreams is our response to that demand,” he explained.
The inaugural “Bikini Soca Edition,” held on November 2, delivered on its promise, offering an electric blend of beach vibes, high-energy soca, and dancehall music. DJs such as Di Unit, DJ Peckham, and DJ Mindless ensured no dull moments, with hits like Pumpa’s The A List and Charly Black’s Bike Back keeping the energy alive.
A Night to Remember, Weather or Not
Despite a rainy start, the event saw patrons dancing barefoot in the sand and splashing in the water, embodying the carefree, celebratory spirit of soca. “The rain couldn’t stop the vibe,” Stewart noted. “It added to the excitement and made the night even more memorable.”
He admitted there were lessons learned from the inaugural staging. “Promotion could have been stronger, and we want to ensure weather contingencies are in place for next time. That said, the feedback from patrons was overwhelmingly positive. Everyone left asking, ‘When’s the next one?’”
Bigger, Bolder, and Brighter
As Stewart gears up for the April 2025 edition, he promises a true carnival-like experience with the addition of interactive elements such as paint wars and more immersive water features. Beyond entertainment, Stewart envisions Wet Dreams as a platform for bringing communities together. “It’s not just a party; it’s about celebrating life, music, and togetherness,” he emphasized.
For soca lovers across Jamaica, Wet Dreams: The Paint & Rum Edition is shaping up to be the ultimate destination for unbridled fun, camaraderie, and Caribbean flavor. Mark your calendars and prepare for a day where the rhythm of soca meets the thrill of the beach.
