Jamaican country artist Wesrok is making waves on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart with his new single “True Love,” a collaboration with American reggae icons Big Mountain. The track, which recently debuted at #86, marks an exciting milestone in Wesrok’s growing career and blends country with reggae to explore themes of love and connection.
Reflecting on the journey, Wesrok shared how the collaboration began with a chance introduction to Big Mountain’s lead singer, Joaquin McWhinney. “After we connected, he asked me to share an original song. He loved the vibe, and we knew we had to bring this idea to life together,” Wesrok recalled. The pair then teamed up with a Mexican producer to finalize the song’s unique sound.
With a strong debut under its belt, “True Love” is also set to have a music video, scheduled to be filmed in Mexico on October 30. Wesrok hopes that the video will capture the track’s heartfelt spirit and resonate with audiences worldwide.
In addition to the success of “True Love,” Wesrok is gearing up for his U.S. debut at the Suga Reggae Fest and Jerk Competition in Fort Myers, Florida, on October 27. Sharing the stage with reggae legends like Mykal Rose and AJ Brown, Wesrok is excited to introduce his music to new fans.
The artist is also hard at work on his next EP, a full country and western project, which promises to reveal new facets of his musical style.
