WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Two teenagers have been arrested and charged following a daring armed robbery that occurred on the Heavy Sand main road in Whithorn, Westmoreland, on Friday, October 4.
The accused, both minors whose identities are being withheld due to their age, are facing charges of robbery with aggravation. The incident reportedly unfolded around 7:00 pm, when a man walking along the road was approached by the two suspects, one allegedly wielding a knife and the other armed with a machete.
According to police reports, the teenagers, who were known to the victim, demanded his iPhone 16 Pro Max and $200,000 in cash. After seizing the items, they fled the scene on foot.
The victim quickly reported the robbery to the authorities, who later accompanied him to the home of the suspects. The teens were positively identified by the victim and promptly taken into police custody.
Their court date is currently being scheduled as investigations continue into the matter.
