Caribbean Cement Company Limited has announced steps to stabilize cement availability across Jamaica, aiming to address recent supply chain issues that have impacted the construction sector. In a statement released on Wednesday, the company assured customers that improvements in cement distribution are on the way, following a shortage that left many industry players in a bind.
Carib Cement confirmed it is now operating at full production capacity and has resolved several operational setbacks, including those related to recent adverse weather. The company noted that it expects these efforts to translate into more consistent cement deliveries to its depots and customers island-wide in the coming days.
“We remain dedicated to improving our services and maintaining a reliable supply of cement to the Jamaican market,” the statement read, expressing gratitude to customers for their patience and understanding during the shortage.
The supply issues came to a head in early September when Carib Cement acknowledged its inability to meet local demand. However, by the end of the month, Industry Minister Aubyn Hill announced the end of the shortage, citing reassurances from Carib Cement that adequate supplies were being made available.
Carib Cement’s recent steps mark an ongoing effort to fortify its inventory management and distribution, with the company emphasizing its commitment to ensuring steady product availability moving forward.
