His freedom came after the Court of Appeal ruled against retrying him and his co-accused for murder, following the quashing of their previous conviction by the Privy Council in the United Kingdom.

On December 31, 2024, the dancehall icon will headline Freedom Street, a historic concert to be held at the National Stadium in Jamaica.
