MANCHESTER, Jamaica— A tragic incident unfolded in Land Settlement, Manchester, on Wednesday night, resulting in the fatal shooting of a car dealer and the theft of three vehicles. The victim, identified as Omar Powell, was killed after he and his family were held at gunpoint by armed assailants.

According to police reports, around 9:45 pm, Powell was returning home with his partner and 15-year-old daughter when they were ambushed by four gunmen. The family was forcibly taken into the nearby bush, restrained, and left on a bauxite haul road.
During the ordeal, the assailants reportedly ransacked Powell’s home. They managed to steal three cars—a Mercedes Benz and two Toyota Proboxes—as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
Powell was shot and killed by the attackers, who fled the scene. His partner and daughter were discovered several hours later, around 2:00 am on Thursday, and were subsequently taken to receive medical care.t tackling them.
