RED HILLS, ST ANDREW — A man with a long criminal profile was fatally shot in the Golden Acres area of Red Hills during an early Saturday morning confrontation with law enforcement.

The deceased, identified as Kevin Rouldson, 40, alias Bingie, reportedly opened fire on police officers during a high-risk operation. The police returned fire, killing Rouldson on the spot. A 9mm pistol was recovered from the scene.

According to sources within the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Rouldson was a central figure in an organized criminal syndicate operating out of Kingston 11. He was wanted in connection with multiple murders, gun-related offences, and a string of motor vehicle thefts stretching across Waltham Park and Cockburn Pen.

The operation was part of an intelligence-led sweep, targeting violent actors believed to be responsible for a recent surge in gun violence in the Corporate Area. Law enforcement officials said the mission was prompted by credible intelligence that placed Rouldson in the Red Hills community.

No police officers were harmed during the exchange. Investigators from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) have launched a formal inquiry, as per protocol.

Residents in the area, while shaken by the gunfire, expressed quiet relief that one of the island’s most elusive suspects has been neutralized. Police have not ruled out further arrests as their investigations continue.
