KINGSTON, Jamaica — Few creatives manage to blend ministry with artistry as seamlessly as Apostle Taneshia Murray. Author, gospel vocalist, and founder of Christ Tabernacle Prophetic Ministry, Murray channels every ounce of her creativity into one goal: drawing hearts closer to God.
A Library for Growing Hearts
Though she has been writing since her teens, Murray’s first official release—I Am Roy—didn’t reach readers until 2022. That children’s title opened the floodgates. Since then, she has penned a festive whodunit (The Great Christmas Cookie Mystery), an Amazon-themed colouring adventure, and even a numbers primer dubbed Math Is Fun. Each book, she says, is built on a simple formula: “spark imagination, teach a lesson, leave a blessing.”
Melodies That Minister
Murray’s musical résumé stretches back to her childhood choir days, but she stepped into the studio at 20 with the triumphant single “I Have Won the Victory.” Up-tempo anthem “Willa-Round-N-Turn” followed, along with the devotional ballad “Give Me More of You Lord and Less of Me.” All three tracks—plus several unreleased cuts—will anchor an upcoming EP slated for late-year release.
Beyond the Pulpit
Between writing sessions and studio dates, Murray leads congregations from Kingston to Calgary, counselling families, restoring marriages, and tackling depression head-on. Her outreach arm, Murray Cleansing, partners with local churches across the Caribbean to host deliverance workshops and youth mentorship camps.
What’s Next
A fresh batch of children’s titles is in final edits, new music videos are in post-production, and a region-wide worship tour is pencilled in for spring. Until then, readers can find her books on Amazon, and listeners can stream her catalogue on YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes.
Murray sums up her life’s work with the brevity of a seasoned preacher: “Words heal, melodies lift, and God does the rest.”
