ST ANN, Jamaica — A Sunday morning collision on the Lodge main road has left Mile End residents in mourning after local lifeguard Kemar Salmon, 38, lost his life.

Salmon was reportedly cycling out of his community around 11:15 am when he veered from his lane and collided with an oncoming red Honda motorcycle.

Both men were thrown from their vehicles upon impact. Emergency responders transported them to hospital, where Salmon was pronounced dead. The motorcyclist remains under medical care.

A section of Lodge Road was temporarily closed as investigators assessed the scene. The cause of the crash is still being determined, and no charges have been laid.

The investigation remains active.
