As Jamaica continues to embrace digital transformation, Digicel Business has joined forces with Symptai Consulting to provide businesses with state-of-the-art cybersecurity solutions. This partnership aims to help organizations navigate the growing risks of cyber threats while capitalizing on the opportunities digital transformation brings.

The collaboration was showcased at the recent GOJ Digital Government Technology Showcase 2025, where Digicel offered free consultations, security awareness training, incident response strategies, and dark web monitoring. With businesses and government agencies increasingly relying on digital technologies to streamline processes and enhance customer experiences, the threat of cyberattacks—from ransomware to phishing—has never been more pressing.

Stephen Murad, CEO of Digicel, highlighted the importance of security in driving innovation:
“At Digicel, we’re not just leading Jamaica’s digital evolution—we’re ensuring that businesses can innovate securely. By offering comprehensive cybersecurity solutions, we’re helping organizations protect their digital assets and ensuring that they remain resilient in the face of evolving threats.”

Echoing this, Marlon Cooper, CEO of Symptai Consulting, stressed the need for clear cybersecurity standards, especially for industries like banking, government, and healthcare. He argued that businesses and government entities must go beyond just best practices and implement enforceable standards to protect sensitive data and prevent breaches.
“The digital landscape is rapidly evolving, and with it, the risks. It’s time to move beyond principles to concrete, enforceable standards. Without them, we risk creating a fragmented cybersecurity landscape where some organizations are secure, and others are vulnerable,” Cooper emphasized.

The collaboration comes at a time when cybersecurity has become a top priority for businesses, especially as 63% of companies only allocate budget for cybersecurity after experiencing a breach.

As part of their commitment to securing Jamaica’s digital future, Digicel Business will host the “Data Protection Mastery” seminar on March 21 at the AC Marriott Hotel. This event will bring together cybersecurity experts to share strategies on mastering data protection, with a special focus on the Jamaica Data Protection Act (JDPA) and ways businesses can strengthen their defenses against cyber threats.

This strategic partnership between Digicel and Symptai Consulting is set to play a key role in shaping a more secure digital landscape in Jamaica, empowering businesses to grow, innovate, and protect their digital assets in the face of ever-evolving cyber challenges.
