Award-winning actress Zendaya is stepping into the world of animation, officially joining the cast of Shrek 5. The Dune and Euphoria star will voice Felicia, a new character in the long-awaited sequel to the beloved franchise.

The news broke after Universal and DreamWorks Animation unveiled a teaser across social media, hinting at the return of the Shrek universe. While the teaser didn’t reveal much about the film’s storyline, it playfully showcased familiar faces, sparking excitement among longtime fans.

Zendaya’s addition marks a fresh era for the Shrek saga, which last saw a major release over a decade ago. She will join returning cast members Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy, reprising their roles as Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey.

Although details about the plot remain under wraps, industry insiders suggest Shrek 5 will explore the next chapter of the ogre family while introducing new adventures in the kingdom of Far Far Away. The film is slated for a theatrical release in December 2026.
