KINGSTON, Jamaica – Authorities apprehended a 21-year-old female chef in connection with a violent vehicle theft incident that occurred in Riverton Meadows, Kingston 11, last Saturday evening.

Keifa Lee Gilchrist, known for her work in Fourth Street, Greenwich Town, Kingston 13, was taken into custody by detectives from the Hunts Bay Police Station. She now faces charges of aggravated assault following the incident.

At approximately 7:20 PM, the victim, a customer service representative, picked up Gilchrist under the guise of retrieving a personal belonging. Upon arrival in Riverton Meadows, Gilchrist is alleged to have exited the vehicle and directed the driver to pursue her.

Moments later, an unidentified gunman approached the car and discharged a firearm, leaving the driver wounded. Subsequently, authorities report that Gilchrist forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle before fleeing the scene alongside the armed assailant in the stolen motorbike.

The Hunts Bay Police Station continues to investigate the motives behind the attack and the partnership between Gilchrist and the shooter.
