KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) management has announced the initiation of an investigation into the tragic death of a 75-year-old patient who reportedly fell from the third floor of the hospital building.
According to a statement released by the hospital’s management, immediate action was taken following the incident. Medical personnel swiftly transported the patient to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department, where efforts to revive him were attempted. Unfortunately, these efforts proved unsuccessful. The family of the deceased has been notified, and the hospital has extended its support, offering counseling services to assist them during this challenging time.
The hospital also confirmed that the incident is under investigation, with updates to be shared with the Ministry of Health and Wellness as well as the South East Regional Health Authority Board. The matter has also been reported to the local police, who have initiated their own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
