Anthony Cunningham, 31, of the Butt Up district, and Paul Newman, 22, of Greenvale, have been confirmed as the victims of the fatal collision. Witnesses and initial reports from authorities indicate that the incident occurred around 1:38 AM, as the riders, traveling in opposite directions, collided under unclear circumstances.
Emergency teams rushed the severely injured men to Mandeville Regional Hospital. Tragically, Cunningham passed away shortly after arrival, while Newman succumbed to his injuries later in the early hours.
