KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 32-year-old labourer from Oakland Avenue is now in police custody after officers reportedly uncovered illicit ammunition during an enforcement action late Friday.
The individual, identified as Orville “Pappy” “Saviola” Lewis, came under scrutiny when law enforcement personnel launched a targeted operation around 6:30 pm. Police intelligence had directed them to a particular premises in Kingston, where several men were observed gathering.
As soon as the team approached, the group scattered. Officers pursued the fleeing suspects on foot, ultimately apprehending them and conducting thorough searches. Authorities allege that two .40-calibre hollow-point cartridges were found in Lewis’s pocket.
Following initial inquiries, Lewis was charged with unauthorized possession of ammunition. He remains in custody as final arrangements for his court appearance are underway. Further investigations are continuing as part of the broader effort to address illegal weapon components and enhance community safety.
