The Jamaican Government’s Reverse Income Tax Credit (RITC) program has encountered some delays in the disbursement of the $20,000 one-time payment to certain approved applicants. The Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has attributed the delays to administrative challenges and assured the public that efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly.

In collaboration with the Accountant General’s Department (AGD), TAJ is working to ensure payments are processed within the next three business days. Affected beneficiaries are being contacted directly via phone or email to provide updates on their payment status.

Applicants who have not yet applied for the RITC are reminded that the deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday, December 13. Individuals can complete their applications through the online tax portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

Once applications are confirmed, the processing and disbursement typically require up to four weeks. Payment notifications, whether successful or flagged for corrections, will be sent via SMS or email. Beneficiaries are encouraged to ensure their contact and banking information is accurate to avoid further delays.

For additional assistance or inquiries, applicants can reach out to TAJ by calling (888) TAX-BACK or emailing TaxBack@taj.gov.jm.
