KINGSTON, Jamaica— Football fans were treated to a thrilling display of grit and determination as Mona High and Excelsior High advanced to the semi-finals of the ISSA Walker Cup at Stadium East on Wednesday.

Mona High, the soon-to-be-former Manning Cup champions, made a strong statement in the second game of the double-header. Dominating St Jago High, they sealed an emphatic 3-0 victory thanks to precise strikes from Savi-K Morton, Kshaine Gordon, and Cameron Sailman. Their performance was a testament to the team’s resilience and desire to claim silverware in a challenging season.

Earlier in the day, the opening game brought high drama as Excelsior High battled Eltham High to a nail-biting finish. After 90 minutes of intense action failed to produce a goal, the match went to penalties. Excelsior held their composure in the tense shootout, eventually triumphing 7-6 to earn their place in the semi-finals.

The remaining semi-final slots will be decided on Thursday at Stadium East. Campion College faces off against St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) at 2:00 pm, followed by a clash between Tivoli Gardens and Wolmer’s Boys’ at 4:15 pm.

With the stage set for more action, the Walker Cup promises a showdown of skill and ambition as schools vie for one of the most coveted titles in Jamaican schoolboy football.
