KINGSTON, Jamaica — With Tropical Storm Rafael approaching, all courts across Jamaica will remain closed on Tuesday as a safety measure. The Court Administration Division (CAD) announced that Tuesday’s court cases will be postponed, with new dates to be communicated to all parties affected as soon as conditions permit. Barring any additional impacts from the storm, the CAD anticipates reopening and resuming normal court operations on Wednesday.
In addition, the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) has also closed its teller services temporarily, prioritizing the safety of its staff and customers. To ensure critical financial functions continue, the BOJ has activated its essential services protocol, enabling ongoing support to banks and the financial sector until services can fully resume.
