Reigning champions Frazsiers Whip secured the Jamaica Women’s Premier League’s first semi-final berth in emphatic fashion on Saturday, routing Springers United 14-0 at Courtney Walsh Oval. The St Catherine powerhouse stretched its perfect run to 14 wins (42 points), locking in a top-four finish with six regular-season matches still on the slate.
Davia Richards, the league’s most lethal forward, fired in goals No. 25 through 28, while Shaniel Buckley and Sahai Panton each struck twice. Natoya Atkinson, Ackelia Johnson, Destiny Powell, Tiny Seaton, Tajay Stephenson and Devonae Lewis added singles. Springers, marooned at the foot of the table, have now leaked 82 goals in 13 outings and join Federal United on the list of clubs mathematically ruled out of the play-offs.
Elsewhere:
- Cavalier 11–1 Proven Girls, Alpha Boys’ Home
Shanel Spence rifled home five (13’, 16’, 45’, 47’, 79’) to raise her season haul to 25, three behind Richards. Kersha Thomas bagged a late double, and Tamara O’Sullivan, Shadie Shirley, Oneillia Perkins and Stephanie Morgan completed the onslaught. Jasmine Brown netted Proven Girls’ lone reply. - Los Perfectos 4–1 Real MoBay, Jarrett Park
Venecia Reid delivered a classy hat-trick (16’, 33’, 79’) to keep Los Perfectos third on 30 points, one clear of Arnett Gardens. Sashana Campbell struck the other goal; Dale-Ann Daley’s 53rd-minute finish gave MoBay brief hope. - Arnett Gardens 3–1 UWI Women, Bell-Chung Complex
Shikira Douglas’ brace and a slick Briana Crosby strike condemned UWI to a fourth straight defeat. Daneisha Hall provided the consolation. - WiFi United 2–1 Federal United, Butterkist Field
Evernique McCleary (5’) and Tashel Davis (42’) pushed WiFi to back-to-back victories for only the second time this campaign. Adriana Hall had drawn Federal level midway through the first half.
