CAYMANAS PARK — Punters were left blinking in disbelief on Saturday when outsider Champion Bubbler, a six‑year‑old American‑bred bay, unleashed a searing late burst to snatch the $1.75 million Reggae Trophy over the straight‑five course.

Under the cool hands of apprentice Tajay Suckoo, the Spencer Chung‑conditioned mare stalked a hot early tempo cut by Pack Plays, Mamma Mia and Bootylicious. Once Suckoo angled her off the dummy rails, Champion Bubbler lengthened powerfully, driving past tiring leaders to hit the wire three‑quarters of a length clear of Pack Plays, with Is That A Fact another neck back in third.

The clock stopped at 59.1 seconds for the 1,000‑metre dash, sealing a hat‑trick of victories at the trip for the emerging sprint star and rewarding her backers at generous double‑digit odds.

For Suckoo, the feature score formed part of a productive afternoon—he earlier guided Prolific Prince home in Race 6. Trainer Adrian Prince also enjoyed a purple patch, saddling three winners: Degaulle (Race 1), Prolific Prince, and Incredible Jo (Race 7). Jockey Demer Williams registered a riding double, partnering Burning Valor to victory for conditioner Patrick Taylor in Race 5.

Racing resumes on Sunday, with fans eager to see whether Champion Bubbler’s electrifying run signals a changing of the guard among the island’s top sprinters.
