KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a move to enhance public transportation accessibility, the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) has introduced two new bus routes catering to commuters in Clarendon, St Mary, and St Andrew.
The new routes—one connecting Chapelton to May Pen and another linking Castleton Gardens to Half-Way Tree—are designed to ease travel burdens and provide a more structured transit experience for daily passengers.
New Routes for a Growing Demand
JUTC officials highlighted that these additions respond to increased commuter needs in rural and urban corridors.
- Route #504 (Chapelton to May Pen) will serve communities such as Turners and New Longville, operating from the Spanish Town Depot.
- Route 52B (Castleton Gardens to Half-Way Tree) will connect key areas including Toms River, Temple Hall, and Golden Spring, facilitating smoother travel into Kingston.

JUTC has maintained a cost-effective fare structure, encouraging passengers to take advantage of SmartFare cards for discounted rates.
