Patrick Casserly, a visionary leader and a key figure in Jamaica’s business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, has passed away at the age of 58. Casserly died on Wednesday at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James after a prolonged battle with cancer. His contributions to the BPO sector have left an indelible mark on the local economy and workforce.

In 2000, Casserly founded E-Services Limited, a company that would go on to become a driving force in the regional BPO landscape. Under his leadership, the company grew rapidly, expanding its operations and workforce, becoming the largest outsourcing center in the Caribbean in just under a decade. His business acumen and determination were instrumental in shaping the BPO industry’s success in the region.

Casserly’s strategic vision attracted the attention of global corporations, and in 2008, he sold E-Services Limited to ACS, a Fortune 500 company, solidifying his legacy as a trailblazer in the outsourcing sector.

Throughout his career, Casserly was a relentless advocate for job creation and economic growth, believing in the potential of Jamaica to become a leader in global outsourcing. His work impacted thousands of lives, creating opportunities for individuals to build meaningful careers in the growing BPO industry.

Casserly’s death is a profound loss to the business community, but his legacy lives on through the continued growth of the BPO sector he helped establish. He will be remembered not only for his entrepreneurial success but for his unwavering commitment to developing local talent and transforming the outsourcing landscape.
