Law enforcement personnel in the Rockfort vicinity executed a targeted search early Saturday, resulting in the discovery of an AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition.

Officials from the Kingston East Division confirm that the search began around 6:50 a.m. After combing through the specified property, officers came upon the concealed firearm and ammunition. No individuals were detained at the scene, and investigators are currently working to identify any potential suspects linked to the illegal weapon.

Authorities emphasize that further inquiries are underway and are appealing to the public for any information that could aid their efforts in curbing the circulation of illegal firearms.
