Jamaica’s motorsport scene is buzzing with anticipation as young driving sensations, Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell, move toward a high-profile sponsorship agreement with German powerhouse Porsche for the upcoming 2025 racing season. Their potential partnership follows a landmark year in which the duo not only entered the European racing arena for the first time, but also powered their way onto the podium in the ADAC GT4 Germany championships.
A Rising Force in International Racing
Though new to Europe’s competitive motorsport circuits, Gore and Summerbell have rapidly established themselves as formidable contenders. Early in their 2024 campaign, they teamed up under the SAPE Motor Sports banner, steering an all-Jamaican-liveried AUDI R8. Despite a challenging initiation, the pair’s grit and incremental gains captured the attention of key figures in the industry. Mid-season, their perseverance was rewarded with a contract from W&S Motorsport, granting them the chance to helm a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport—a turning point that ultimately propelled them into the ADAC GT4 spotlight.
Honoring the Backbone of Their Success
Their upward trajectory culminated in a celebratory event at the S Hotel on December 14, 2024. At this sponsor appreciation reception, family, partners, and mentors gathered to recognize the accomplishments of the young racers. Legendary Jamaican driver Doug “Hollywood” Gore, father to Tommi, expressed his admiration for what these emerging talents had achieved in such a short time. Gore also emphasized the importance of fresh support on the horizon, noting that additional sponsors are already lining up, attracted by what he calls “the next generation of Jamaican motorsport brilliance.”
While multiple supporters were honored, special thanks were extended to trailblazers like Sherwin Williams. As one of the earliest investors, the company’s representative, Kenneth Richardson, hailed the partnership as a pioneering moment for Jamaican motorsport. The S Hotel, Q8 Oils (Bearings and Accessories), Sandals Hotel, the Jamaica Tourist Board, Barita Investments, MoBay Freight, JSRA, and Bell Safety also received applause for fueling the team’s remarkable journey.
Carrying the Torch of Jamaican Racing Legacy
Gore and Summerbell are not only building their own brand but also standing on the shoulders of giants. Both hail from distinguished racing families: Tommi is the son of celebrated driver Doug Gore, while Senna follows in the footsteps of David Summerbell (Jr), another titan of Caribbean motorsport. By making their mark on European circuits, the two young Jamaicans continue a legacy of ambition and international reach, forging a new era of opportunity for the island’s racing community.
Looking Ahead to Greater Heights
Their story is just getting started. After cutting their teeth in regional series like the Caribbean Radical Cup and venturing into competitions such as Formula 4 Central Europe and Formula Prototype Canada, both Gore and Summerbell have demonstrated the adaptability and talent to excel on the global stage. Their third-place podium finish and overall top-15 final standing in their debut ADAC GT4 season were no small feats—and both drivers aim to push even further in the year ahead.
“Securing a podium in such a prestigious series during our first outing is something I’ll never forget,” said Gore, reflecting on their remarkable season. “But we’re not done. With ongoing sponsor support and the possibility of teaming up with Porsche, 2025 could be even more extraordinary.”
Summerbell echoed the sentiment. “A year ago, the thought of representing Jamaica at this level seemed like a distant dream. Now, we’ve proven that we belong on the same track as Europe’s best. As we plan for 2025, the goal is not just to perform well, but to exceed what we achieved this season,” he said.
A Future Fueled by Passion and Partnership
While the deal with Porsche has yet to be finalized, the very notion of a Jamaican duo headlining under the banner of one of Europe’s most celebrated automotive brands signifies the dawn of a new chapter. Should this partnership come to fruition, it will not only highlight the island’s growing influence in global motorsport, but it also stands as a testament to what can be accomplished through passion, perseverance, and the unwavering support of a loyal network of sponsors, fans, and family back home.
