Sometimes, love stories take unexpected turns, only to come full circle in the most beautiful way. For Symonia Brown and Benjamin Savery, their journey spanned over three decades and two continents before leading them to a magical moment on Carey Island, where they finally said “I do.”

It all began 30 years ago when a young Symonia and Benjamin first fell in love. “He was my first love at a tender age,” Symonia reminisces. Their relationship blossomed until life took them in different directions—Benjamin migrated to Canada, and Symonia moved to England. Though they kept in touch for a while, distance eventually caused them to drift apart.

But fate had other plans. Six years ago, their paths crossed once again, this time at the Bahia Principe resort in Jamaica. “Within 24 hours of reuniting, Benjamin proposed,” Symonia shares with a smile. What seemed like a chance meeting turned into the rekindling of a love that had never truly faded.

Planning a wedding from overseas can be daunting, but Symonia took matters into her own hands. “I struggled to find a wedding planner, so I decided to organize everything myself,” she explains. Using Instagram to source local vendors for chairs, tables, and other essentials, she also shipped decorations from the UK, ensuring every detail reflected her vision.

On August 10, 2024, surrounded by 100 loved ones, Symonia made her grand entrance across a bridge leading to Carey Island, escorted by her sons and her father. The backdrop of Brian McKnight’s Back at One and Heartland’s I Loved Her First added a timeless soundtrack to this unforgettable moment.

It was the culmination of a love that had stood the test of time—Symonia and Benjamin, hand in hand, ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives together.

As they look forward to a snowy honeymoon in Canada, their story serves as a reminder that true love, no matter how many years pass, can always find its way back.
