Payne, who was staying in Buenos Aires, reportedly fell from the third floor of a hotel in the Palermo district, leading to his untimely death, according to Argentine authorities.
Emergency services were called to the Casa Sur Hotel shortly after 5 PM local time. Alberto Crescenti, head of the city’s emergency medical service (SAME), confirmed that Payne suffered critical injuries that were “incompatible with life” and sadly, there was no possibility of resuscitation upon their arrival. He added that the singer’s identity was later confirmed as that of Liam Payne, known worldwide for his work with One Direction.
