KINGSTON, Jamaica – St Catherine High School clinched their place in the second round of the ISSA Digicel Manning Cup on Tuesday with a dominant 3-0 victory over Papine High. The match saw St Catherine take control early and finish strong, securing a critical win to bolster their standings in Zone E.

The victory was powered by a commanding performance from Dwight Gentles, who scored twice in the second half to seal the win. Rajae Taylor had set the tone for St Catherine with a well-taken goal in the first half, giving his team a 1-0 lead at the break.

With this win, St Catherine climbs to 16 points in the group, trailing St George’s College by just three points. St George’s, who maintained their lead at the top of the group with a 3-1 win over Norman Manley, will face St Catherine on Friday, October 18, in a showdown that will determine the top spot in Zone E.

For Papine High, the defeat adds to a tough season. With only one win from their seven matches, they are set to finish at the bottom of the group and will miss out on advancing to the next stage.

The eagerly anticipated matchup between St George’s and St Catherine promises to be decisive as both teams aim for group honours and a strong position heading into the next round.
