ST ANDREW, Jamaica – A fatal shooting occurred on Saturday morning in Cheshire Village, a housing development designed primarily for persons with disabilities, located on Golding Avenue in Tavern, St Andrew.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Micheal Sutherland, also known as ‘Dim Dim’, who hailed from Bedward Gardens in August Town.

Reports from the police indicate that at approximately 7:45 am, residents heard several gunshots and alerted authorities. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Sutherland lying face down in a pool of blood with apparent gunshot wounds to his head.

At the time of the incident, Sutherland was reportedly wearing pink and white shorts, black and red American Eagle underwear, and black, white, and orange Nike sneakers.

His body was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital, where medical professionals confirmed his death.

As of now, investigators have yet to determine a motive for the killing, and inquiries are ongoing.
